Dr. Sonila Sejdaras, Psy.D
Dr. Sonila Sejdaras, (Relational Psychodynamic, Mindfulness, & CBT), is a clinical psychologist and the owner of Sejdaras Psy.D & Associates. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health. In addition to completing her doctorate in clinical psychology, she holds a license in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). She is a professional speaker who works with high-achieving professionals—including lawyers and physicians—to address burnout, self-guilt, and shame, while cultivating self-compassion. Through this work, she helps individuals reconnect with their authentic selves and increase productivity in a natural, sustainable way, promoting overall wellness and long-term performance in the workplace.
She is the founder of Care for Albania, the first nonprofit organization in the United States dedicated to supporting the emotional well-being of the Albanian community, and the founder of Health Wellness Center, which provides accessible mental health resources to surrounding Chicago communities. Sonila offers services in both English and Albanian to better support diverse communities.
As a clinician, Sonila has worked in a number of inpatient psychiatric hospitals and outpatient mental health clinics, including Henry Ford Hospital & Northeast Guidance Center Clinic in Detroit Michigan, Haymarket Center, GatewayFoundation & Howard Brown Behavioral Health in Chicago, Illinois. She works with individuals suffering from Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Grief and Loss, Bipolar Disorder, Relationship problems, Work Stress, and ADHD. Dr. Sejdaras specializes in treating social anxiety, panic attacks, complex trauma, or substance abuse. She has extensive experience working with diverse, high-achieving individuals from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. She is deeply committed to developing perceptiveness and understanding of her clients’ lived experiences, while intentionally creating a relational environment where they feel seen, validated, and genuinely understood.
